If you follow me in Instagram you will have noticed that for the past 43 days I’ve been posting a picture everyday with the has tag #100happydays and #smje100. That is to say starting on January 27, 2014 my close friend Steven and I decided to take part in a challenge called 100 Happy Days. If you’ve never heard of it before check out the website but the gist of it is you are to post a photo each day of something that makes you happy. And you do this for 100 days in a row. While it seems like a daunting task, I can’t believe how quickly it’s flown by. Our challenge ends on my 23rd birthday May 8th, 2014 (which was specifically chosen) and I do feel like I notice a difference.

When you start a challenge like this you start looking for things in everyday life that make you happy. It’s not about how many likes you get on instagram or how creative you are with your photo it’s about finding the things that provide meaning in your life.

I challenge all of you to take part in the 100 happy days. You might think it sounds silly or that you don’t have enough time to do it, but to be honest you do have the time and while it seems silly it works. Our generation is busier than ever and if you take 2 minutes out of your day to look or identify something that makes you happy it will most definitely go a long way. I want to point out that by no means does this challenge expect you to be happy 100% of the time. God knows I’ve had my fair share of bad days and moments when I’m feeling glum but this little project looks for the good in your day – and we could all use a little more good inout day, right?
